LAUNCHING MARCH 2025

Coming for the
Good of Brooklyn

We are excited to announce the launch of a new Redeemer church plant in Downtown Brooklyn! You can watch the announcement on our YouTube channel.

We believe that planting a new church will not only be life giving to one of the fastest growing and changing neighborhoods in New York City, but will also be one of the best ways for Redeemer Downtown to live out our vision and values of being a church not for ourselves, but for Jesus in the city.

Therefore, it’s important that this new church plant does not exist to make life more convenient for Christians already in Brooklyn. Instead, we hope that this new missional community will prioritize the needs of our non-Christian friends and neighbors by being a church not for ourselves, but for the good of Brooklyn.

That’s why we’re intentionally taking our time to launch a public worship service in early 2025 in order to first focus on building out healthy missional dynamics with a core team that prioritizes prayer. If you want to learn more about what God is doing in Downtown Brooklyn, there are a number of ways to get involved! We hope that you will join us!

Rev. David Lee has called New York City home for nearly 20 years. After graduating from NYU and working as an investment banker, he pursued his M.Div at Westminster Theological Seminary, where he also met his wife, Ann. While there’s some playful debate about who pursued whom, their shared passion for ministry is undeniable.

Since 2015, David has served in various roles at Redeemer Downtown, where he and Ann have developed a deep love for serving the city. Now, they’re excited to plant a new church in Downtown Brooklyn, one of the city's fastest-growing neighborhoods and the place they proudly call home.

If you have any questions or want to learn more, David is always happy to connect over coffee at the Ace Hotel in Downtown Brooklyn, where you’ll often find him!
