Give online by ACH, credit, or debit card.
We encourage you to give online via electronic ACH (bank-to-bank transfer) giving. Redeemer
Downtown pays a 1.5%–2.5% processing fee on every credit or debit card gift. An electronic
check avoids that fee, allowing more of your gift to go directly to ministry. Please consider it
especially for larger gifts.
Make it recurring. If Redeemer Downtown is your church home and you don't yet give in a
planned way, setting up a recurring gift is an easy next step. It lets you choose your amount and
frequency, and it helps our staff plan and budget.

Give through a donor advised fund.
Set up a contribution through a donor advised fund, such as Fidelity Charitable, Schwab
Charitable, Vanguard Charitable, or a community foundation.
To make a grant:
1. Log in to your DAF account and choose to recommend a grant to a charity.
2. Search for us by Federal Tax ID (EIN): [EIN — 85-4254117. This is the most reliable way
to find us. If you search by name, use “Redeemer Presbyterian Church Downtown.”
3. If your DAF allows it, include your name and mailing address with the grant so we can
match it to you. Many DAFs send grants without donor information by default.
4. Submit the grant. Processing time varies by sponsor, usually several days to a few
weeks.
5. For mailed DAF gifts, our business address is:
Redeemer Presbyterian Church Downtown
Attn: DT Finance Department
150 West 83rd Street
New York, NY 10024
Good to know:
● Your tax receipt for the original contribution comes from your DAF sponsor, not from
Redeemer Downtown.
● We will list DAF grants on your annual contribution statement for your records, but not in
the tax-deductible total.
● For year-end giving, we suggest submitting your grant by early December, since
sponsors have their own deadlines, and gifts can take multiple weeks to reach us at the
end of the year.
● If your DAF sends grants by check, use the mailing address above and have them
mention your name

Donate stock shares or mutual funds.
Donating appreciated securities (stock, mutual funds, bonds, American Depository Receipts,
and other property) often gives you a greater tax benefit than selling them and donating the
cash. The gift is recorded at its value at transfer, and you can generally avoid capital gains tax
on appreciation if you've held the asset for more than a year. Please check with your tax advisor
before you begin.
Before you initiate a transfer, please email giving@redeemer.com so we can:
● designate the gift for Redeemer Downtown,
● understand how you'd like it used, and
● send you a tax receipt promptly.
Then ask your broker to transfer the securities to:
Transfers typically take four to five business days from the time your broker initiates them to
settlement, and sometimes longer. See the FAQ below for year-end deadlines

Donate bitcoin and other cryptocurrency through Coinbase, BitPay, and Fidelity Charitable.
If you'd like to send a gift directly to our Coinbase account, email bitcoin@redeemer.com.
Please contact us before giving so we can understand how you'd like the gift used and send you
a receipt.

Give via check, PayPal or Employee Matching.
Mail a Check
Make your check payable to Redeemer Presbyterian Church Downtown and mail it to:
Redeemer Presbyterian Church Downtown
Attn: DT Finance Department
150 West 83rd Street
New York, NY 10024
PayPal
We're an eligible charity on PayPal Giving Fund. In your PayPal dashboard, choose
"Donate to a Cause" and search for "Redeemer Presbyterian Church Downtown." Your
tax receipt will come from PayPal Giving Fund, not from Redeemer. PayPal Giving Fund
gifts can take a few weeks to reach us, so if you give near year-end, email [finance
email] so we can include your gift in our annual reports.
Employee Matching
Some Redeemer ministries, such as Redeemer Counseling Services, meet many
companies' matching-gift requirements. Many companies don't allow matching gifts to
churches or religious organizations, so please check your employer's policy
No. The full amount of your gift is tax deductible.
Only for credit or debit card gifts. Redeemer Downtown pays 1.5%–2.5% in merchant fees on each one, and fees are higher for American Express than for Visa or Mastercard. Please consider giving by electronic check, using your account and routing numbers, when making larger gifts.
● Electronic check: up to $250,000 per week per person.
● Visa/Mastercard/Discover: up to $100,000 per single gift. Contact [finance email] if you
plan to give more than $100,000 in total across multiple gifts.
● American Express: any amount.
● Credit card limits are set by your card issuer. For a large year-end gift, call your card company ahead of time to pre-authorize it, especially if you're making several gifts in a short window. These donations can be made directly on our website.
Electronic checks and card gifts time-stamped by 11:59 p.m. on December 31 are included in that year's contribution statement.
Checks postmarked by the US Postal Service on or before December 31 count for that year.
Checks sent by UPS, FedEx, or any other carrier are recorded on the day we receive them, not the day they were mailed.
Securities must be received in our brokerage account by 4 p.m. on the last business day of the year to count for that year. Transfers can take several business days or even weeks, so please start early. We record the gift on the day the securities are visible and tradable in our account. Please consult your tax advisor about deductibility.
Your DAF sponsor issues your tax receipt. We list DAF grants on your annual statement for your records only, outside the tax-deductible total.
Sponsors vary in how long they take to process grants and in whether they include your name. If it's been a few weeks, email [giving email] with the grant date, amount, and sponsor name, and we'll help track it down.
