Join us and invite your friends to our Guest Sunday on April 6 at 10 a.m. or 5 p.m. where you'll hear a talk from Rev. Pete Nicholas on "Why does God allow suffering?"
In a world filled with pain, loss, and uncertainty, it’s natural to wonder where God is in the midst of it all.
Together, we’ll explore this profound topic with honest discussion, biblical wisdom, and hope-filled encouragement. Whether you’re searching for answers, struggling with doubts, or simply curious, you are welcome here. Come as you are, bring a friend or coworker, and join us for a Sunday of reflection, connection, and the promise of hope beyond suffering.
Kids and youth programming is available at the 10 am service and we will enjoy a time of coffee and refreshments after both services where you will be able to connect with staff and other members here at Redeemer Downtown.
Who is Pete Nicholas?
Rev. Pete Nicholas is an Englishman in New York who moved to become the Senior Pastor at Redeemer Downtown in 2022 with his wife Rebecca, and two children, Oliver, and Tobi. Rebecca is a Reconstructive Surgeon. They have been married since 2008. Pete came to faith in Christ at university where he was studying Philosophy, Politics and Economics and playing rugby. This was followed by a Masters Degree, and a brief and unsuccessful time playing more rugby in a semi-professional capacity before he started working as a Management Consultant. He was soon called to pastoral ministry where he worked for Christians in Sport, before a time at seminary, and then planting a church in London, where he also helped found and lead the City to City initiative - the London Project. Pete has authored the books: A Place For God, Five Things To Pray For Your City, and Virtually Human: Flourishing in Digital World.
What to expect?
At Redeemer Downtown, you’ll find a community of people who don’t just want to know the truth of the gospel, but who want to experience it—here in New York. By connecting with each other, learning to know Jesus, and serving our city, we take part in what God is doing and allow ourselves to be shaped by it.
Our Sunday services are identical except for their musical style. 10 a.m. has classical/eclectic music with kids and youth programming provided. Our 5 p.m. service has contemporary/eclectic music. Both services offer a time of coffee, refreshments and conversation after.
