"Ignite" at Lake Champion awaits!

This fall the Redeemer Downtown Youth group is heading for a special weekend with our high school and middle school students to Lake Champion. This is an amazing opportunity for students to meet other kids in their church and surrounding churches, spend their days relaxing and having fun through various planned and free time activities, and gain a deeper understanding of their Savior. ALL students 6th-12th grade are invited to join as campers. Enjoy worship, games, the big swing, high ropes course, kayaking, basketball courts and more.

Young Life's Lake Champion is a premier 370-acre year-round retreat center located in the foothills of the southern New York Catskill Mountains. Our facilities are nestled amongst towering pines, peaceful streams, and overlook our spectacular 50-acre lake. Camp is located in Glen Spey, NY, about a 2 hour drive from the city.

Who's Going?

All the Redeemer churches! This fall's retreat will be collectively planned and put on by the Redeemer churches. Any non-Redeemer friends are still very much welcome to join. In fact, now you can bring a friend for FREE with the new Buddy Pass!

🎟️ NEW Buddy Pass: If you have a friend you've been wanting to invite, we are introducing a Buddy Pass system where you can bring one friend that is not active at Redeemer Downtown for FREE. That's right, they just need to fill out the form HERE, and we'll reach out to you with a discount code. Only one Buddy Pass per youth per retreat.

What to Bring

While on campus, students will be staying in cabins and will be fed amply during meal times. A more detailed list of items will be provided at a later time, but some basics include clothes (bring something warm for evening outside activities), tennis shoes, toiletries, any medication, and a bible. Snacks will be provided, but kids can bring money for the camp store and snack bar.

What to Expect

Each day will look a bit different, but on Friday evening campers will arrive and enjoy time with each other exploring the beautiful campus of Lake Champion and our first all camp session. Saturday we will have a camp session followed by game time and lunch then an afternoon of free time where kids can enjoy the the big swing, high ropes course, kayaking, rec hall, snack bar, and more. Finally, after dinner, we will have another session followed by a bonfire. On Sunday kids will have one final session after breakfast before heading back home.

Technology-free zone! This retreat is an opportunity to unplug from our devices and connect to one another. Once arriving to Lake Champion on Friday evening electronic devices will be collected from the campers and returned to them again as we depart on Sunday. I realize this is harder for some folks than others, but trust me, this makes the weekend soooo much better! (Note: If a student needs an electronic device periodically for schoolwork, please let me know ahead of time.)
